Iron Trails
The eastern part of the island reveals the productive character of the island of Kythnos. Hiking here you may explore the old mines of the island, an indication of the mining activity of the last century in Kythnos. This area of Kythnos has relatively lots of water due to a cave complex which serves as an underground water reservoir. It is famous for its agricultural production including apricots, berries, figs and pomegranates. A guided tour of eastern Kythnos offers rich experiences with unique pictures and scents.
Activity
Our hiking activity follows the trail that starts from the eastern entrance of Dryopida, giving a magnificent view of the eastern Cyclades. It descends to the beach of Lefkes where it meets the impressive buildings of the old mining industry, the so-called Spitares, which exploited the minerals of the land of Kythnos.
Next on our tour we meet the old laundry facilities where housewives of the village washed the family's clothes. During our experience and depending on the current season, you may taste almost all kinds of Greek fruits such as apricots, berries, figs and pomegranates.
At the end of the hike we reach Lefkes beach. Lefkes is famous for its crystal clear waters and fine sand. You may choose to return using the same trail or by means of transport.

The altitude difference in the rising during the return is 200 meters in 2 kilometers.
There is a minimum number of 4 participants required for the implementation of this outdoor activity. Experience Kythnos reserves the right to postpone or cancel the activity in case of non completion of the required number of participants.
