Chora Tour

Cycladic architecture and traditional beauty

The capital of Kythnos island called "Chora" or "Messaria", is located conveniently in the centre and to the north of the greek island. Just before entering, you will notice 4 wind generators, which constituted the first ever wind-energy park in the whole of Europe, when constructed back in 1986. Within the traditional Cycladic village, you will find the “Katholiko”. Katholiko was once the main church during Venetian rule, when Catholic and Orthodox liturgy known as "sillitourgo" were developing side by side. Nowadays, the Katholiko is an outdoor museum hosting significant archaeological finds from Vryokastro, the ancient capital of Kythnos. We end our historical trip by taking an atmospheric stroll though the picturesque and handsome alleys of timeless Chora village.
